What families are saying about Willow Ridge

"My daughter has been enrolled with Willow Ridge Academy over the past year.  I am so grateful for the in person classes and community that Willow Ridge has provided for us.    My daughter loved all the classes and her coop day was her favorite part of the week.  I highly recommend Willow Ridge Academy to any families that want their children to Excel and learn things in a non traditional way.  We are very happy with Willow Ridge and look forward to next year." ~ Michelle (parent)

“What I like the most about WR was the hands-on cooking class because I was able to make new foods, learn new recipes, eat delicious food, and even try new foods I was not comfortable with and they were great.  I had so much fun making the recipes.  I love the fact that we students were able to joke around and Mrs. Kluwin was always nice and thoughtful.  I really got to know new people in my class because it was small and I was able to make friends.  I loved that I was able to provide input about classes I was interested in for next year.  I know it will be something I want to study. I enjoyed being able to write essays on interesting people because I got to know a lot more about historical figures." – Ellie age 12

“I think that Mrs. Kluwin is a really good and kind teacher.  I think she is a really caring teacher who taught us well.  I loved having her as a teacher this year and look forward to her teaching more classes next year. For the cooking class, she ensured that my dietary sensitivities were taken into consideration.  I liked the smaller class size because Mrs. Kluwin was able to give us individual attention and guide us with how to improve our homework.  I liked that the homework assignments were not too overwhelming, but just the right amount for our grade level and skill ability.  I felt seen and heard in her class." ~ Olivia age 13

“Willow Ridge Academy has been a godsend for our family.  As a full-time working mother, it was great to be able to drop my children off at the Academy and know they would be safe and well cared-for.  Mrs. Kluwin also ensured that I knew how to help my children with their homework and was open to answering any questions I had since I was not in class due to working.  She is available for any questions anytime.  My children went from hating homeschooling to loving it.  The week after the last day of school, they said ‘I miss Mrs. Kluwin’s class and wish we could go back.’  Mrs. Kluwin is an excellent communicator and brought issues to my attention so I could address them with my children.  As a strong advocate for parent’s rights, I appreciated her allowing ME to address the issues with my children, all the while fostering a stronger bond between my children and I.  I have had my children in other co-ops and never truly felt they were learning, however with Willow Ridge, I could see my children’s academics improve throughout the semester.  Mrs. Kluwin has a strong sense of Biblical values so I know the curriculum she selects will be free from agendas that run contradictory to our family, as well as, will be accurate discussing all sides of an issue.  She fosters great discussion amongst the students, so they not only learn from herself and the curriculum, but learn from each other and see alternative perspectives, thus expanding their minds.  I cannot recommend Willow Ridge highly enough.  It has been a game changer and life saver for my family." – Brooke exhausted mom (ahaha, just kidding)

Stating that Mrs. Kluwin is an excellent teacher is an understatement. Throughout my years as her student, she has challenged me above and beyond what I think I’m capable of, empowering me to become confident in my writing abilities. While Mrs. Kluwin is compassionate and understanding, she’s also honest and provides thought-provoking critiques with every assignment. Not only does she encourage, engage, and equip us to become better writers, but she continuously strives to be an example of Christ, and inspires her students to be likewise. Undoubtedly, I would never have found my love for writing had it not been for Mrs. Kluwin’s direction and contagious passion. ~Greta (high school student)

I am so grateful that Diana Kluwin is my daughter's teacher. My father taught high school for 35 years and he still hears feedback from his students on what an impact he made on them. Diana is this kind of teacher.

Diana has not only mastered her literary skills but the emotional aspect of teaching as well. She sets high standards, corrects with compassion, and critiques with kindness. She is highly empathetic and encouraging. She patiently explains the lessons, making sure each student understands her expectations. She has a broad scope of knowledge and covers the material fully while keeping my daughter engaged. I appreciate her enthusiasm and energy, especially during this incredibly challenging year. Diana clearly cares about Julianna's writing skills, knowing these skills will help my daughter later in life in her career.

She is truly invested in my daughter's education and takes a personal interest in finding her strengths as well as where she needs to improve. I feel that my daughter will be better prepared for the essays she will be writing in college. ~Chantelle (high school parent)
